The man behind Shrine is Hristo Gospodinov from Bulgaria. After several years of playing various acoustic instruments Hristo finally turns into sampling to express his musical ideas in a different way. "Shrine" was started in 2003 in order to create unusual type of ambient. Since then til now his music has evolved into a different directions but always in the field of drifting ambient soundscapes. "Harmony, Bliss, Rust" contains three lengthy tracks which will take you to... ( 2 reviews )
Mortesium is a swedish ambient project, formed in 2002 by Ronny Jacobsson. Right now he's working on his first album but had time to release this little single first. This is probably not the most experimental music you'll ever hear, quite far from it actually but it's not what it's meant to be, Mortesium's is Ronnys vision of ambient, the way he thinks it should be; the sound is dark, but still relaxing and meditative with layers of strings, textures and samples. The music isn't really meant... ( 8 reviews ) Topics: Ambient, Soundscape
This ep is the debut of the Italian project Sepulcrum Spei. Andrea Tuffanelli created the project early in 2005 together with Edoardo Romani Capello when they were recording their main project Lucus. They're both experienced musicians with backgrounds in various underground bands. MMV is mainly very minimalistic folk played on flute, harp and percussion. This is mixied with drones, background textures and environmental samples to create a darker, sometimes almost sinister, more ambient feel. ( 4 reviews ) Topics: Ambient, Folk
The man behind Moxuse is Koichiro Mori. He comes from Saitama in Japan. he studies software art in Tokya and on his spare time he creates some really beatiful sounds using his laptop. I guess you could call the music ambient, or electronica if you'd like. The songs are based around glitchy rythms that stutters forward accompanied by some simple melodies, sometimes field recordings is added to the mix. I could probably write an essay here, but that's not why you're here, so go ahead and download... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: ambient, electronica, glitch
For the tenth Mirakelmusik release we're back in Sweden with the debut ep of Bluedark aka Erik Glans. However Bluedark is no newbie, he has been making music for ten years and has had music play in movies, on the radio and online. Currently he is working on the soundtrack for a new online game called Mistlands. Explorations far below is an ambient journey which takes you down beneath the surface and into the depths of the oceans. For almost thirty minutes Bluedark gives us dark ambient with... "Mokushi" is the japanese translation of "apocalypse", and all the dictionaries give to it the meaning of "great catastrophe, total disaster, weighty calamity". Simply this is a common place, a cliché which we must demolish. In reality the root of the word "apocalypse" comes from the greek "apokàlypsis", which means "discovery, revealment", and on it we don't find simply a fatalistic message of world's destruction, but a discovery, a... Alexandr Vatagin has been playing bass for about three years. He started playing in his band Tupolev and later on joined und morgen, der asphalt both have released excellent ep's on 12rec. But now it's time for Alexanders solo works. It all started when he began to play cello and made some solo songs for fun. The songs became more serious and the first recordings he made were "aventurin" and "rats and mistakes". The sound is very different from his bands, the poppy/folky... ( 1 reviews )
Renzo Peressi comes from Venezuela and has been making music since 1996. He has released music under different names such as Ojoruido, Abluonihil, Mendigo, Krotos aswell as his own name. Tetauro which ranges over an 70 minutes consists of 9 lengthy ambient tracks, featuring drones ranging from deep to ethereal and back. There is basicly no... ( 9 reviews ) Topics: Ambient, Drones
The fifth release for Mirakelmusik. This time it's none other than the Danish laptop artist Danny Kreutzfeldt who brings us the music. You might know him from his great releases on Thinner, Autoplate and Databloem etc. or perhaps his live appearances. If you've heard some of Dannys other releases you're probably used to rather soft sounds, Noiseworks 1 shows us a harder and more noisy side of him, which has only been publicly shown live or as soundinstallations throughout Denmark before.... This is somewhat of a departure for artist Martin Callanan who normally works in installations involving the visitor as part of the work. This is Martin's first EP; consisting 4 tracks of pleasing ambient noise. Sound of places unnameable in out present time, the past or even the future unless everything goes completely wrong in a way only these four tracks can imagine over 19 minutes. 041209-03: "The more I learn about how a landscape is made and transformed the more I recognize that the... Aidan Baker shouldn't be an unfamiliar name to most of you by now. The Canadian has released numerous cds, cdrs and mp3s on labels from all around the world as a solo artist, in a band or collaborating with other artists. On this album Aidan uses (as usual) his guitar but also other instruments and tools like tapeloops and sampled dialogue. The result is the three long and beautiful tracks that constructs this album. 44 minutes of soft, ambient textures and deep drones. ( 1 reviews ) Topic: Drone
From our last release, we're now heading east to Finland where Jari Pitkänen lives. Previously Jari has released two great eps on enougrecords and now he's back with another fine half hour of ambient drones, along with some great artwork by Jari himself. On Conv Exp Jari works with subtle drones and voices. These sounds are built by stretching out short samples like pianos and vocals and manipulating them into slowly shifting drones that morph into new shapes and sounds. Sounds that's almost... Once again I'm very proud to present the debut release by a new dark ambient collective. Idle Sunder was founded in 2004 and consists of 4 members and The Frozen Shard is their first release. The six tracks on this EP share a dark and moody feeling. Musicwise the release uses deep drones along with field recorings to create a dense ambient ep that never stands still, it constantly evolves and changes into new sounds. ( 1 reviews )
Sticking Drops is an Italian duo consisting off Lorenzo Tomio and Nicola Lucchese, they have made live appearances in Italy but this is their first release. The duo were born in 2003 mixing two different ideas of electronic music. The tracks on Sustain have been made with a electric guitar and of course a laptop. The guitar is used to create dark background sounds in a nice ambient way. The laptop adds some sweet glitches and noises that completes the songs. This ep may take a few listen to... ( 1 reviews )
Erratic is a project of Jan Robbe (Undacova, xE Phalanx, Duncan Avoid, Pandemia) and has been his main project for the last months. He's been working hard on what I can present to you now. Presence is a one track album, meant as something to fall asleep to. It explores the darker and more abstract realms of ambient with the use of field recordings and electroacoustics. Presence has a soundscapes sound that constantly evolves and changes slowly, always into something new. You'll never know what... ( 2 reviews ) Topics: Electroacoustic, Ambient
We're now wandering into the harsher side of electronics again, maybe not as harsh and noisy as Danny Kreutzfeldts Noiseworks 1, but still pretty nice. Temple Thrum spans over almost an hour with its three lengthy tracks. Reeling Pressure starts off where you'd expect it to start: distorted synthetic sounds, but moves into more ambient sounds but never looses focus. The Invocation is an ambient piece that grows from subtle and haunting into noisy. The album ends with Moon, another nice ambient... Topics: Ambient, Industrial
Get it here: http://www.mirakelmusik.se/releases.php?rel=mir015 D'incise is a project from Geneva, he's a member of the collective audioactivity and has been creating music sinc 2002. He works with several different sides of electronic music, from electronica to electro-acoustic influenced by dub music and abstract hiphop. déambulations sur nervures is a broad experience featuring metallic textures and melancolic atmospheres. What we have here is a split ep by the two drone artists Adrián Juárez and Pablo Reche. This is part three in a series of split releases featuring Adrián Juárez availiable on various netlabels. Both artists contribute with two tracks, exploring the darker realms of the drone world, showing them at their best sides. Mostly the lower range of the sonic spectrum is explored, but sometimes we break the surface and get a glimpse of the sun.
Atomtrakt is a German dark ambient act and Verwüstung is his first release. This ep was first released as a limited MCD of 500 copies but I've gotten the chance on releasing it here. Although this ep according to Atomtrakt himself should be considered a demo, both the quality and the music is topnotch. The project was founded early in 2003 and is a side project to Vinterriket. The four tracks on this ep is mostly percussion based with atmospheric keyboards and background samples. The keyboards...
I can now present Ubeboets first release, somewhat of a presentation of the project. Ubeboet is a sideproject of m__ who have previously released on netlabels such as Enough and Entity. This time he brings you a 15 minute electroacoustic track based entirely upon field recordings. When creating the track Ubeboet worked with the idea of silence and isolationism, uninhabited spaces. The sound is cold and a bit metallic, and it might take a few listens to fully enjoy the piece. The song is made up...
From Russia comes Aeterna Anima, which is latin and means eternal soul. Aeternia Anima is an one-man project which aim is to show the importance of traditions through the music. Previously Aeterna has released two demos and been featured on an compilation. The music on "Where is The End of Voidism?" is quite straight forward dark ambient, with some nice twists. Along with the drones, bells and samples there's alot of vocals, sometimes spoken sometimes whispered. The repetative... Topics: dark, ambient, aeterna anima, mirakelmusik
Here's another great release from Sweden. This is the debut ep of Robin Rådenman aka The Winter Quarters, but it's not his only project, hopefully we'll hear more from him in the future. But for now here's Vid, a very fitting release considering the season cause when I look out my window, the ground, the houses, the trees are all covered in snow. So here's three beautiful tracks to keep you company these cold winter nights. These songs sweeps over you with their melodic drones accompanied with... Topic: ambient, electronica, glitch, glitchpop
ps returns to Mirakelmusik with a little remix ep. The base of these tracks are a series of Jeskola Buzz songs made by ps in 2006. These were then sent to friends around the globe to be remixed. These remixes were split into different ep's and what we have here is the dark ambient part of those mixes. Here, the originals have been reinterpreted by Nosfe from Finland and Rngmnn from Germany. Nosfe's version is a very minimalistic track, featuring distant machine-like drones and noises. Rngmann's...
ps aka Filipe Cruz is most likely a well know name in the netlabel scene. Besides being the main guy behind enoughrecords he also makes music and is a member of the demoscene. Previously he has released several eps and albums on enoughrecords and other netlabels, he is also part of xE Phalanx. Just recently he releseased together with Ubeboet/m__ an excellent collaborative ep as Dotkrà z on Entity. Now Filipe brings us threee minimalistic yet quite textured tracks. He mixes digital noise with...
d'incise is back with another back of sonic adventures, this time it's a full length albums worth. The songs on "erratiques éraflures" were composed when d'incise where moving between Switzerland and Poland. This time he relies more on field recordings than before and it's noticeable. In the words of d'incise himself: Few of the tracks are based on fieldsrecordings, two friends trying to repare a bicylcle in "petite pologne perçue comme ça", cars klaxons and street...
Behind Ideell is 16 year old Alexander Eldefors, from Åre, Sweden. Grunn is his first ep, but it has been lying on my harddrive collecting dust so long that Alexander managed to record and release a beautiful mini-album since I got the ep. To me Grunn sounds like summer nights, the sun slowly starts so set with "Someone had a thought, I know who". When "So beautiful outside, so sad inside" comes along, we can clearly see the stars. The nights ends with "Happy... Topics: ambient, electronica, mirakelmusik, ideell, grunn, glitch
